Only Admins can add or delete a user.
Adding a User
- Go to Admin > Users and click + Add new.
- Fill in the new user's details:
- Name*
- Surname*
- E-mail* - unique identifier in Moderan
- Permissions* - select from the drop-down the type of permissions for your new User. In case the Admin rights are assigned to a User, they have access to all of your Properties. Read more about User rights here
- Access to properties - select all the properties a User needs to have access to from the drop-down. You can add as many properties as you need. If you want to grant access to all of them – select All.
- Allowed tabs - for Users and Viewers you can restrict some parts of Moderan
- Hit Save
Once User card is saved, the e-mail of the User cannot be changed in Moderan.
You can still edit other user information (check how).
Moderan has several types of User permissions available:
Deleting a User
Moderan does not allow users to be permanently deleted. Instead, users can be Deactivated.
Deactivated User:
- no longer has access to your Moderan account
- The user’s activity history is preserved, as the email address remains a unique identifier. This ensures that all past actions and changes remain visible in the system.
When to use deactivation
- When a user leaves the organization
- When you want to temporarily suspend access
Deactivated users can be reactivated at any time, restoring their access.
How to deactivate a user
- Go to Admin > Users
- Select the user you want to deactivate
- Change the user’s Permissions to Deactivated
The user is deactivated and no longer has access to your Moderan account.
How to give back access to a Deactivated user
Follow the same steps as when you deactivated the user, but assign a new type of Permission: User, Viewer or Admin, depending on your needs.
